Nerd test: CityRun 26″ electric bike – 250 W, 36 V, 10 Ah, up to 60‑80 km range

Hi, I'm Nerd - a fan of urban e-bikes looking for a mix of design, functionality and everyday usability. This time I tried CityRun 26″ model – a stylish electric bike with a low entry, basket and 7-speed Shimano transmission. Here is my detailed review and rating.

Technical features

Motor: 250W brushless motor, maximum speed up to 25 km/h – in accordance with EU e-pedal bicycle regulations

Battery: 36 V × 10 Ah (≈360 Wh), hidden in the frame, estimated range 60–80 km in pedal-assist mode

Gears: Shimano 7-speed transmission for added comfort without electric assistance

Frame & weight: steel frame, weight approx. 27 kg, load capacity up to 120 kg

Wheels: 26″ × 1.95″ tires, front suspension fork for comfortable riding on city roads

Brakes: Disc brakes front and rear for safe stopping even in varying wet weather conditions

Equipment: LED front light, bell, luggage rack (up to 30 kg), front basket and chain guard

Display & controls: LED display for speed, battery, distance and riding mode; some models support a statistics app

My user experience

First impression and ergonomics

The CityRun looks neat at first glance: an elegant color combination, a basket at the front and a comfortable seating position. Thanks to its low entry design, it is particularly suitable for people 155–180 cm tall.

Ride and stability

The engine is quiet and just the right amount of power – reaching ~25 km/h with ease, even on a slight incline. The 7-speed gearbox ensures smooth gear changes, especially when the electric assistance is temporarily switched off.

Battery range

In combined use (pedal assist + moderate riding) I achieved approximately 65 km, which matches nicely with the official range of 60–80 km.

Comfort and braking

The disc brakes work reliably. The front suspension fork and wider tires effectively absorb uneven surfaces. The ride is significantly more pleasant than with standard city bikes.

Maintenance

Useful tools are included, the housing is robust. The ignited chain guard combined with the derailleur requires minimal updates – just regular checks of the brakes and battery.

Advantages

Comfortable city bike – easy to get on and ride

Aesthetically hidden battery with good range

Shimano 7-speed derailleur for flexible routes

Practical equipment: luggage rack, basket and LED lighting

Disc brakes front and rear, stable braking

Disadvantages and limitations

Heavy (~27 kg) – not for carrying up stairs

No app dock in some models – without smart integration

Moderate protection – not IP68 waterproof; be careful in the rain

Motor 250 W – not for steep slopes or high speeds
